Huffer Mascot
Mickey the Monkey was inspired by the recent celebration of Huffer’s 25th birthday. I took a look back to the inception of the brand and was interested by their original inspiration; merging the worlds of the snow and street. I wanted to reflect this throughout my mascot’s design. Mickey is a fusion of Japanese macaque and Rhesus Macaques, monkeys respectively found in snow and street. I choose to use a monkey as people naturally feel a connection to them, they’re rebellious, have attitude and are free spirited, just like Huffer’s target audience. I chose the name Mickey as it rhymes with monkey and is gender neutral as diversity, inclusion, and unity are some of Huffer’s key values.
They’re fitted in an iconic Huffer down jacket, in icy blue and baggy jeans straight out the 90’s to amplify the fusion of snow and street. I have given them a warm friendly face with some edgy fur to keep them inviting but maintain some attitude. The hero opts for a more dynamic pose where you’d naturally catch Mickey either shredding the streets on their skateboard or catching some big air on the mountains.
