[Pre] occupied
‘[Pre] occupied’ is a multi disciplinary installation art exhibition that explores interpretations of ‘occupied’ space, engaging a juxtaposition between the human and natural occupation of built space. Portraying ideas existing within the anthropocene, ‘[Pre] occupied’ imagines the merging of nature and humankind in the depiction of a futuristic world where artificial spaces mirror that of the natural environment and plant life re-occupies built space as we know it.
The work embodies this juxtaposition through the sculpting of various objects as examples of
‘human-occupied space’ that together form a structure reminiscent of natural life. The sculptural work is enhanced with moving image works powered by prompted AI art technology depicting natural environments, creating a secondary duality between that of the artificial and the natural in exploring the AI interpretation of nature.

This exhibition was a great to experiment and gain experience with emerging AI technology that I used to craft a series of animated projections!
